We are in the midst of the yearly campaign for the United Way of Washington County. As part of the “United Force For Good”, Maysteel is proud to raise funds to help our community. The United Way of Washington County does so much for so many of us, it’s only right that we all pitch in to help each other.
Our employees do more than just donate cash to the United Way campaign. We spend time in the community helping the non-profits that benefit from the United Way. In September, as the yearly campaign kicked off, many of us, as well as employees from several other Washington County businesses, got together to assemble bags of health and hygiene supplies for 2,500 local residents in need.
When it comes to education, the United Way works with partner agencies to improve school readiness, promote early childhood reading, prevent high school dropout, and advance life skills and personal development. The non-profits in Washington County that do this include the Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers and Big Sisters and The Threshold.
For community health, the United Way focuses on improving access to health care, creating healthy beginnings and supporting healthy choices. Their partner agencies include the Family Promise Coalition, NAMI of Washington County and the Heroin Task Force.
When it comes to financial stability, the United Way disperses donations to group who support Family-sustaining employment and financial stability as well as household stability. These non-profits include the American Red Cross, Case Guadalupe Education Center and Full Shelf Food Pantry.
All of us can help our community remain strong every year! Let’s top last year’s record setting campaign and help each other be united for good!
