(West Bend, WI) – Maysteel Industries LLC supports Allenton and the surrounding communities through investments in education programs in manufacturing, as well as local safety net programs. In an effort to ensure needs are being met, Maysteel provided United Way of Washington County, West Bend High School, and Moraine Park Technical College with financial support to enhance education and safety net programs for the betterment of families and individuals. They have also made several small donations to support local activities that build manufacturing skills and awareness such as the Slinger High School Bots program, “TechnOWLogy Camp,” and other STEM and technology related programs and sponsorships in Washington County.

In continued support, Maysteel is committed to offering plant tours for educators and students, being involved in committee events, and providing internships for students who want to trial careers in manufacturing.

The United Way of Washington County received $10,000 to benefit the Full Shelf Food Panty and Elevate that supports individuals and families dealing with delinquency, drugs, alcohol and mental health issues through prevention, early intervention, and supportive services helping build a solid recovery plan for clients to live independently and successfully. Kristen Brandner, Executive Director of the United Way of Washington County, stated, “Maysteel’s partnership in addressing top local needs sets an example for others to follow. We are honored by their continued corporate support benefitting the most utilized United Way programs in Allenton. Through this investment, we are able to provide local residents with emergency food from Full Shelf Food Pantry, and alcohol and drug abuse programs through Elevate.”

Moraine Park Technical College’s manuFACTuring initiative builds interest and enrollment in manufacturing related careers while streamlining the educational process and internship programs to assist both students and potential employers. Kevin Matkin states, “At Maysteel, we want those who want to complete a manufacturing-related degree to have the financial support to do so. That’s why we have decided to participate in the FACT Program.”

West Bend High School received a $20,000 gift for the Technical Education Department. Jason Gitter, a technical education instructor, was honored by the donation and expressed his gratitude, “We are so grateful to Maysteel for recognizing and valuing the contributions that our students will have if they are prepared for the workplace. It is uplifting and encouraging when companies invest in our programs and have faith in our abilities to teach and train a workforce for the future. Maysteel’s generous contribution has boosted the whole department and we are excited to be able to offer better learning opportunities to our students.”
