(Allenton, WI) Maysteel Industries, LLC, (“Maysteel”) awarded its flagship “Maysteel Dedication to Manufacturing Excellence” Scholarship to local high school students and celebrated them within its Allenton headquarters. This scholarship is part of Maysteel’s “Maysteel Gives Back” initiative that supports two main focal points: The first is giving back to the communities that support Maysteel’s facilities and employees, and the second is nurturing the next generation of manufacturing professionals.
The goal of Maysteel’s scholarship is to support continued education for all aspects of a manufacturing business from engineering and fabrication to accounting and finance. Each year the scholarship will emphasize a different position/ skill set within manufacturing; this year’s emphasis was mechanical design.
Each scholarship applicant was required to apply with a formal application accompanied by letters of reference, as well as complete an in-person interview with the Maysteel team. Each student who applied did an outstanding job in the process, and the selected students represented both passion and determination for the mechanical design field. Each scholarship recipient will receive $2,500 towards their continued education.
“As a business, it’s our corporate responsibility to give back to the community and we are honored for the chance to support continued education for the next generation of manufacturing professionals,” said Kevin Matkin, CEO of Maysteel.
“We were thoroughly impressed with the commitment and enthusiasm from each participant, and we look forward to seeing what each of these students will achieve in the mechanical design field in the future.”
